Privacy Policy
Effective date: April 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the WorldCup mobile application ("the App", "we", "us") handles information. We designed the App to collect as little data as possible: we do not ask you to sign up, and we do not share anything with third parties.
1. Information we do not collect
The App does not collect, upload, or share any personally identifiable information. Specifically:
- We do not require registration or any account.
- We do not request your location, camera, microphone, contacts, photo library, or any sensitive system permission.
- We do not use third-party analytics or crash reporting SDKs.
- We do not operate our own tracking system or retain logs tied to individual users on our servers.
2. Information stored locally on your device
The list of teams and players you choose to follow is stored on your device only, using the operating system's standard preferences storage (iOS UserDefaults, Android SharedPreferences). This data never leaves your device and is not visible to us. Uninstalling the App deletes it completely.
3. Information sent to third-party services
To function, the App makes HTTPS requests to two external services:
- Our own backend at
api.worldcupteam.pro, which forwards the request (with an API key held only on the server) to a licensed football data provider. We do not send your name, account identifiers, device identifiers, or location. We do not retain request logs tied to individual users. - Google AdMob, which serves the in-app advertisements. AdMob is Google's advertising network; their SDK may collect limited data to serve and measure ads — see "Advertising" below.
4. Advertising
The App shows banner ads and an occasional splash (app-open) ad, provided by Google AdMob. The AdMob SDK may collect:
- A mobile advertising identifier (iOS IDFA or Android Advertising ID) if you grant permission — see below.
- Your device's public IP address, model, OS version, and language.
- Information about which ads were shown and clicked (aggregated).
This data is processed by Google under Google's own privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy). We do not receive or store this data.
On iOS 14.5 and later, the App presents Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before using the advertising identifier. You may decline — the App will continue to work and AdMob will serve non-personalised ads instead. You can change your choice at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
On Android, you can reset or delete your Advertising ID in Settings > Privacy > Ads.
5. Children's privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. The AdMob SDK is configured to request non-personalised advertising where required by applicable law. Because we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, no child-specific processing is performed on our side.
6. Security
All network traffic between the App, our backend, and third-party services is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. The upstream API key used by our backend is stored server-side and is never shipped inside the iOS or Android binary.
7. Your rights
Because we hold no personal data, there is nothing to access, correct, export, or delete from our servers. You can:
- Clear the locally stored followed-team list by uninstalling the App or clearing application data in your device settings.
- Revoke ad tracking permission in your device's system settings (iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking; Android: Settings > Privacy > Ads).
8. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update this page and change the effective date at the top. The in-app Privacy Policy screen will always show the latest version.
